Four Top Tips for Having the Best Yoga Class

Staying active and physically fit is an important part of life, especially in these days of high stress. Yoga is an extremely important practice that helps relieve the energy pressure of our lives. Yoga brings a ton of benefits that improve the overall health of a person, such as improved balance, digestion, flexibility, memory, mind, body and more. The fact that every individual can find something that works best for him or her is an amazing blessing, but it’s also the greatest responsibility. As a personal teacher, I always recommend a regular yoga class to my students to help improve their mental and physical well-being. Here are some of the best yoga tips to make the best yoga experience.

Rugging up your best gear

When you attend a yoga class, you need to arrive with a very well-dressed body. If you are weak in body-hair, it’s easy to suffer from dryness and body-heat. Some people bring a robe or extra outfit, but a well-fitted sport shirt and shorts are very important for Yoga. I like to don a sports coat in early-morning, since it stays warm and doesn’t fall apart. I always wear high-top sneakers or running shoes when I go to the yoga studio.

Covering up

If you look bad in front of your friend or teacher, you definitely won’t come back to yoga class. It’s important to have a healthy and beautiful body, and covering up makes that happen. Make sure you leave a minimum of skin exposed for your class. It should be as covered up as you would wear it out for your lunch, and ideally, your clothes should be sleek and tight. Also, try to avoid wearing a cotton shirt or a button-down as a sports jacket in the mornings, when you have everything under control.

No braying!

When you walk into your yoga class, don’t wait until the last minute to put your hands on your head or bare your chest. Not only is it unsafe, but your yoga teacher will be suspicious, and you have the potential to incur a wardrobe malfunction. It’s time to pay attention when people start shouting out their tummies or shrieking. It’s enough to see the look of panic on their faces before the nakedness comes out. A good strategy to preserve your modesty is to keep your arms at your sides, so that if your instructor doesn’t notice you, you won’t look like you’re wearing an Illuminati T-shirt underneath.

Long, flowing yoga classes

The more you listen to your body, the longer you will spend in a yoga class. It’s an amazing feeling to breathe while sitting down, and it’s always better to hold tight and inhale at the same time. When you start a yoga class, you need to get in touch with your breath, and you’ll feel like you’re in serenity at the end of the class. However, if you ever start to breathe deeply and enjoy the experience too much, you will find yourself having an unproductive practice, and your body will start hyperventilating.

Polishing your skills

The most important thing about practicing yoga is not necessarily the physical aspect, but the mental aspect. When you’re going through yoga, you can feel the change in your body. And at first, you won’t have that feeling. The air around you starts shifting and causes you to turn around so you can breathe out your breath. Soon, you will be able to lean back and breathe freely, and it’s very fulfilling.

But remember, as you progress through the difficult poses, you need to remember that your body is not meant to last forever. If you begin to get tired, stop doing the pose, take a couple of breaths, and then try another pose. Don’t bother doing the poses just because you enjoy them. It’s your personal business, and your body is doing what is best for it.

Many people forget that they’re learning yoga and sometimes miss out on what they were told. Even if the class looks amazing, it’s not enough. You’ll have to try all the poses, and just follow the correct form and breathe properly. You need to know why you’re doing them. Don’t just follow the instructions on the mat, but try to get the feeling that you’re in a classroom. Think of it like football and go with your movements and your body. Don’t be afraid to exert yourself during the class.
